Real estate in South Brisbane has a new face.
The South Bank Parklands now stands on the former Expo 88 site and is Brisbane's most popular recreational and cultural destination with both tourists and locals alike with over 10 million visitors each year.
Of all Brisbane's inner fringe post codes, South Bank has had the most amazing transformation over the last decade. Once a mainly industrial area with wharves and derelict warehouses, the South Bank we know today began with the building of the Cultural Centre in the 1980s. World Expo followed in 1988 and marked the start of an exciting new way of life for Brisbane residents. It’s amazing as the whole 4101 post code (West End Highgate Hill and South Brisbane) seemed to lie dormant until post Expo 88 when property prices started to rise dramatically! With the Goodwill Bridge now linking the Parklands to Garden Point the CBD is only a short stroll away. The Parklands itself is a great place to meet friends for lunch on a lazy Sunday with an array of great restaurants, cafes and bars, or having a swim at Streets Beach which is a man made lagoon/beach right in the heart of the Parklands and is always packed during the summer months with visitors trying to escape the heat ! As far as living at South Bank there are the Arbour on Grey apartments which is just one of the residential developments built around the precinct and are luxury residences, built over the eateries and retail boutiques that are scattered along Little Stanley Street in full Parisienne style. The latest edition to the area is the Brisbane Eye which is a monster Ferrous wheel giving spectacular views across Brisbane skyline. Our office is located in the middle of South Bank right on Grey Street opposite the Cinemas, all in all its a great place to live, work and play with something for almost everyone.
